My preferred grocery store can't sell beer and wine, but the new gas station down the street can.

After living in CA for so long, it was so surprising to move back to FL and not find liquor in the grocery story. I was like, “Why don't grocery stores sell liquor?” And people just say, “Liquor stores do.” Which are always located RIGHT NEXT TO THE GROCERY STORE.
So. Dumb.
